The Texas Longhorn Safari is the perfect way to see up close and learn the fascinating history of these historical and spectacular cattle. They are direct descendents of the millions of Texas Longhorns that walked in the great trail herds from Texas in the late 1800's.
Get up close (and sometimes personal) to the spectacular herd of genuine full-blood Texas Longhorns including the longest horned cattle in Australia. There are also Asian Water Buffalo, American Bison, Mexican Sardo Negro, Indian Gyr, African Ankole Watusi and Scottish Highland cattle...a bovine experience like no other!
An unforgettable part of this unique experience is the tour of the ‘The Longhorn Love Shack’. You will also get to see the brand new ‘JR Gallery of Horns’ including our own Guinness World Record horned steer on display. Chuck Wagon Smoko or traditional Aussie bush smoko is included and barbecue lunch with great entertainment can also be part of your experience.
On Arrival - After meeting your hosts, sit back and relax at the ‘Wagon Wheel’ dining shed and enjoy a unique video display and ‘Old West’ historical narrative of the famous Texas Longhorn breed of cattle.
Chuck Wagon ‘Smoko’ - Enjoy an old time enamel mug of genuine cowboy coffee, brewed or billy tea on an open fire, home baked Anzac bikkies and Chocolate Texas Brownies all served from a genuine 1866 ‘Made in Texas’ cowboy Chuck wagon. We will have juice and cold water available as well.
See the Texas Longhorns - After smoko it's time to get on board the Polaris Rangers. These easy access vehicles are the perfect way to experience ‘up close and personal’ the animals on display.
Longhorn Love Shack Tour - Learn how we breed our Texas Longhorns and see the cattle working facilities, designed especially for these BIG horns.
JR Gallery of Horns - The experience includes admittance to this brand new addition. On display is JR - longest horned beast who has ever lived in Australia and Guinness World Record holder. His horns exceed 10 feet 4 inches from tip to tip or 3.15 metres. There are also other interesting items on display including an 1880’s replica Texas Trail herd saddle made right here in the Bethel Saddlery custom saddle shop.
