Payment - No seats on the Wagon or Safari Rangers will be reserved without full payment.
Children - In the event that a Wagon Tour is fully booked, children under 2 years old (who are free) will not be allocated a seat of their own and will need to sit on a parent or carers lap. Our experiences are done at a gentle and sedate paand are safe. if you have any questions or concerns with this please contact us before booking. Please note that our Insurance underwriter stipulates that ALL children in Safari vehicles must be allocated a seat of their own.
Cancellations - Every effort will be made to maintain the advertised timetable but unforeseen circumstances may mean we have to re-schedule. In the rare event of this occurring you will be advised with as much time as possible so as to cause minimum inconvenience.
Refunds - If we have to cancel the experience due to a situation beyond our control, we will do our best to find an alternative time that suits you. If this is not possible, you will be refunded in full using the payment method that your booking was made with and no booking fee will be withheld.
In the event of you wanting to change your booking date we will do our best to help, subject to availability, up to 48 hours before your scheduled experience.
If you just 'don’t turn up' or are a 'no show' on the time you are booked, unfortunately we cannot provide an alternative or a refund for a missed experience.
If you cancel your experience within 48 hours and we are unable to fill your seat(s) unfortunately we cannot provide you with a refund. If we are able to fill your seat(s) a refund will be issued less cancellation fee as detailed below.
Please note: A small cancellation fee will apply to refunds should you cancel. This fee is reflective of the costs charged to us by our merchant facility to accept, and then refund the amount you were originally charged.
Appropriate Clothing - Because our experiences are basically an outdoor activity, dressing to suit prevailing conditions is advised. For example; during the warmer time of the season, hats and long sleeve shirts are recommended. Closed footwear is recommended at all times.
Safari Vehicles - Some guests will be required to sit in the back seats of the Safari vehicles. Whilst these are safe and desirable seats, and a great viewing platform they're not shaded and do require a couple of steps up. Seat belts in the vehicles are do be used whenever vehicles are moving. Wearing a hat is also recommended and sunscreen is freely available for your use. Please note that our Insurance underwriter stipulates that ALL children in Safari vehicles must be allocated a seat of their own.
Horse Drawn Wagon - The wagon does have several steps up into the rear of the wagon which does require a reasonable degree of fitness and mobility. The Safari may be more suitable if you have mobility issues.
Water - We are away from homestead for approx 1 - 1 1/2 hours, depending on the experience so bring a water bottle if you need to. Filtered water is available for you to fill bottles, there is also water for sale in shop.
Dietary Requirements - All of our experiences includes smoko or lunch and we will do our best to supply food that suits your dietary needs. Special dietary requirements must be notified at the time of booking. Please advise using designated text field when booking.
Complaints - If you have any complaints at all during your visit, please let one of us at Texas Longhorn Tours know as we will do our best to rectify the matter. We are a small family business who take immense pride in what we do but on very rare occasions ‘things don't go according to plan’ so don’t hesitate to talk to us.
Photos and Video - We are happy for you to take as many photos as you want. In regard to video - we’d prefer you keep that to a minimum. By all means take some video but we’d appreciate it if you were reasonable about and not video all of our commentary. There is to be NO video taping or recording of our Texas Longhorn History video presentation display.
Social Media - We may take photos for social media and promotional purposes. Please don’t hesitate to let us if you have any objection to your image being used.
Pets - Due to the nature of our attraction and animlas on display, unfortunately we are unable have pets on the property. Gold City Vet Clinic, in Charters Towers will be happy to ‘mind your pets’ for the few hours you are here. This service is only available Monday to Friday.
Your Health & Covid19 - Guests are advised to cancel should they be experiencing Covid-like symptoms. Hand sanitizer is freely available and guests are encouraged to use it.
Risk - Texas Longhorn Tours maintain very high safety standards but recreational activities and experiences do involve risk. You need to take reasonable precautions for your own safety, and always follow our procedures and guidelines. Listen carefully to our instructions and directions. Obvious risks do arise including that cattle can be unpredictable and they have long horns capable of causing serious injury or death. You need to keep a safe distance from them at all times unless one of our trained Guides is immediately beside you and you are doing exactly what they are telling you to do. We maintain mandatory safety standards but if you are concerned about age, physical or medical conditions for any of our experiences, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your situation. If you have any concerns at all in regard to safety and/or participation at any level please contact us before booking but you must at all times accept the obvious risks of undertaking a recreational activity and experience.
Waiver and release - To the maximum extent permissible at law, you and others that you are booking on behalf of: waive, release, and discharge Texas Longhorn Tours and their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, agents and sponsors from:
-all liability for my/their death, disability, personal injury and property damage in any way arising out of my/their participation in the recreational activity except to the extent that it was contributed to by the gross negligence of Texas Longhorn Tours;
-all claims relating to loss of earnings or consequential loss; and
-claims based on distress or disappointment arising from being unsatisfied with the activity, delay, cancellation or postponement of the activity.
In respect of a claim pursuant to Australian Consumer Laws which cannot be excluded or limited by law, I agree that the liability of Texas Longhorn Tours will be limited to replacing or repairing the goods, supplying the services again, or paying the cost of the replacement, repair or provision of services again, at the option of Texas Longhorn Tours. I accept sole responsibility and liability for my/our own acts, omissions, and errors in judgment and will keep Texas Longhorn Tours indemnified from claims arising from my own acts, omissions etc. I acknowledge and intend that this waiver and release binds me, my executors, administrators, heirs and successors, or where applicable binds the persons on whose behalf I am signing and their executors, administrators, heirs and successors.
Before undertaking the activity, you will be required to sign an acknowledgement and waiver document and you agree that such document will be incorporated into your contract by reference. If you require a copy of this document before arrival, please ask for it and we will email it to you.
